This exhibition will show the best of my wildlife photography. 30 years of professional reporting on Nature.
It is only a fraction of my artistic collection though (and a tight selection of a few hundreds, from my global collection of more than 350 000 nature illustration images)
Animal photography belongs to the eldest form of Art. The cave-men decorated their walls with detailed images or sketches of the animals they encountered and hunted, pictural but also very sympbolic of their relation to the environment. Techniques have changed, art evolved, but the attraction remains. The animal is still a link for us to our environment. Because we need Nature.
My selection takes into account composition, shape, colors (although it might at times look as black and white). They show the power and beauty of the world around us. It is an illustration of life but recalls our relation to the environment. Can we do without other forms of life, without biodiversity?
